About MundoAzores
My name is Norberto, and I created MundoAzores. I was born and have lived in the Azores, and that direct connection to the islands is at the heart of the project and the content we publish.
The story of MundoAzores
MundoAzores started as an online store dedicated to selling regional products from the Azores, using the MundoAzores.com domain.
Over time, the project evolved, and information about the islands became an increasingly important part of it. That experience eventually led to the project that exists today.
Today, MundoAzores is focused on creating a travel guide to the Azores, bringing useful information about all 9 islands together in one place.
Why MundoAzores exists
When I started this project, there was a lack of reliable and comprehensive information about the Azores in Portuguese. Much of what was available online was limited, outdated or lacked depth.
MundoAzores was created to become the kind of guide I would have wanted to find myself: clear, useful and based on information that can be checked.
What we publish
We publish guides covering all 9 Azorean islands, including places to visit, nature, activities, transport, food and heritage.
We also create travel itineraries and practical content to help people planning a trip to the Azores make better-informed decisions.
Our content is available in Portuguese and English, with the aim of maintaining the same information and level of detail in both languages.
How we verify information
Whenever we add factual information, we aim to verify it before publishing.
Prices, opening hours, access information, distances and other details that may change are given particular attention. When sources provide conflicting information, we try to confirm the facts through reliable sources rather than simply assuming that one version is correct.
Portuguese and English versions are also compared to make sure that one language does not end up significantly less complete than the other.
